Temps de lecture : 2 min.
OCTOBRE ROSE : ENSEMBLE POUR LA LUTTE CONTRE LE CANCER DU SEIN !

October is the month when pink becomes the color of hope and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Each year, as part of the Pink October campaign, events, fundraisers and awareness-raising actions are organized to highlight the importance of early detection and self-examination in the fight against this disease which affects millions of women around the world. 💕

Breast cancer

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women, with thousands of new cases diagnosed each year. Fortunately, thanks to advances in research, cure rates are very high. There are ways to detect it at an early stage, which greatly improves the chances of recovery.

The importance of early detection

Today, breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women. The earlier the cancer is detected, the broader the treatment options and the higher the survival rates. Medical follow-up must take place every year from the age of 25. Regular screening mammograms are recommended for women over the age of 40, and are essential for spotting any abnormalities. However, screening should not be limited to mammograms. It's also essential to get to know your breasts and examine them regularly.

Self-palpation

Self-palpation brings together a set of simple gestures which, practiced every month, after your period, allows you to know your breasts well, to detect any abnormality and to report it to your doctor. Self-examination constitutes an additional asset for your health but in no way replaces your regular visit to your gynecologist, midwife or doctor.

This technique involves regularly examining your breasts for any abnormalities, such as a lump, hardness, or unusual pain.

If you find a lump, abnormality or have any concerns, consult your doctor. Regular self-examination does not replace mammograms, but it can help you detect changes more quickly.
